How do I replace just one plank – Floating Cork, Bamboo and Hardwood?
One of the main advantages of a floating floor is that it is not nailed or glued to the sub-floor. This means that if you need to replace a plank or section due to damage or other issues, the floor can be unlocked from the outside all the way back to where the damaged plank is located. It can then be re-installed replacing the damage material and no one will know the difference. This is a much easier process then traditionally installed flooring and can save a lot of money and head aches. Floating floors expand and contract as moisture and humidity change so this type of flooring is ideal in the more extreme climates. Floating floors also typically gap and cup less than traditional flooring due to the ability to expand and contract with changes.
